We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Licensing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The Oracle Licensing SME will be responsible for providing expert knowledge and guidance on Oracle's licensing models, compliance, and optimization strategies. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure the efficient and legal use of Oracle software and services, while helping to mitigate any potential risks associated with licensing.
Oracle Licensing Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities:
- Provide deep technical and strategic knowledge of Oracle licensing models, policies, and processes (including Processor, Named User Plus, and Cloud Licensing)
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing Oracle license usage across various platforms and environments (on-premise, cloud, hybrid)
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, and finance teams to review and negotiate Oracle licensing agreements and contracts, ensuring alignment with business requirements
- Perform detailed licensing assessments to ensure the correct number and type of Oracle licenses are deployed. Work with the IT and software asset management teams to align Oracle software usage with the organization's licensing needs
- Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, including IT, finance, legal, and business teams, ensuring understanding and adherence to Oracle's licensing policies
- Develop and deliver training sessions to internal teams and stakeholders on Oracle licensing models, compliance requirements, and best practices
Oracle Licensing Subject Matter Expert Requirements:
- At least 5+ years of experience in Oracle licensing and/or Oracle software asset management. Previous experience in Oracle licensing audits, compliance, and contract negotiations is a must
- In-depth understanding of Oracle licensing models, pricing structures, and terms. Strong understanding of Oracle products (e.g., Oracle Database, Oracle Cloud, Oracle E-Business Suite, etc.) and their associated licensing policies
- Proficient in using Oracle License Management tools and software asset management tools. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex licensing documents and provide actionable insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills to collaborate with external vendors, legal teams, and business stakeholders
- High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a global enterprise environment with multiple Oracle product suites
- Understanding of Oracle cloud licensing models and cloud subscription management
- Familiarity with software asset management (SAM) frameworks and tools
